The art of finding balance
We've been in love with this beautiful inspirational blog for most of this year, with its focus on imagery, quotes, and passages from books. In this issue, we're so happy to have Madelene & Tia from the beautiful Barcelona-based blog The Art of Doing Yoga share a photo essay on how yoga should feel, inside and out.

Practicing balancing poses require our full awareness and helps us to draw our focus to the present moment. If our mind is not still, then we have a tendency to fall in the pose; if we only practice the pose from our muscles' capacity, our bodies become tense, and the breath cannot move freely.
Find stability and lightness by working with the energy and the breath, and feel how the energy from the earth moves inside your body. Be connected to yourself and the moment.
"No person, no place, and no thing has any power over us, for 'we' are the only thinkers in our mind. When we create peace and harmony and balance in our minds, we will find it in our lives."
-louise l. hay
By practicing balancing poses, we develop increased strength, stability and focus, amongst many benefits. Balancing poses are also helpful in reducing stress and tension. Keeping balance is necessary in all aspects in life, not only on the yoga mat.
ABOUT Madelene & tia
As a pair of Nordic yoginis living in Barcelona, Spain, Tia and Madelene began their blog The Art of Doing Yoga out of a common interest in nature, yoga, and photography. The blog, full of beautifully realized inspirational images linked with quotes and passages, is a must-visit on our browser bookmarks, and should be on yours, too.
